Travel :: Accommodation

Flights
The closest International Airport to Jefferson is Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW). It is a 3 hour drive from Jefferson so you will need to rent a car at the airport.

If you don’t want such a long drive, you can fly into the East Texas Regional Airport near Longview, Texas (GGG) or Shreveport, Louisiana (SHV). Both airports are just over an hour drive from the ranch. Flights into GGG are operated by American Airlines and connect through DFW. Flights into SHV are operated by Continental Airlines and are typically routed through Houston.

Please book your flights soon as the wedding falls on a Holiday weekend and they may get pricey closer to the date. Once you have booked send us your flight info. If enough people are arriving at DFW or SHV/GGG close to the same time, we may try to arrange shuttles from the airport!

Save the Date :: 3 July 2010

Our Texas Wedding will be held at Graceland Ranch, the McAlpine family farm in East Texas, on July, 3 2010! We hope you can join us for the celebration. Jefferson Texas is the first town my family lived in when arriving in America. It’s an old Steamboat town on the river in piney woods of the South. Do plan to stay on for Fourth of July celebrations in town on Sunday. Jefferson boasts one of the best fireworks shows in the State! We are very excited for this special weekend!

Engaged :: 14 February 2010

Giles proposed to me under an old Oak Tree up the Canyon from our house. A delicious picnic, bubbly, hummingbirds, books on trees, and abundant sunshine made the day blissful! A hand-whittled wood ring now adorns my finger; a placeholder while we design a ring together!
